Watercolor Paintings by Amalia Fister Lottes

I have always been drawn to art. When I was young I was completely horse-crazy and spent hours drawing horses. I then began to copy scenes from Christmas cards and paint them with acrylics.  Shortly after my daughter was born in 2000, I saw some watercolor paintings and a light bulb went on! My husband bought me a box of paints and a two-hour workshop for Christmas that year and I was hooked.

 

I find watercolor to be incredibly challenging, and exhilarating at the same time. I am on an endless quest to "loosen up" which I have had varying degrees of success with. While learning watercolor can be frustrating, it is also relaxing for me – it just makes me feel good to paint! My hope is that you will feel good viewing my work!
